If you google it, there is plenty of literature that suggests that Australia is falling behind in science and maths subjects and there is gender gap for girls engaging and aspiring with STEM disciplines. We have observed this in our own workshops with the girls in the minority. There are plenty of programs around the world encouraging girls to develop an interest in science and technology. When they are given the opportunity, they are creating some amazing things – see video below.
